The 2026/27 HYROX Elite 15 season was supposed to start somewhere no fitness race had ever been held: on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean. It won’t. HYROX has moved the season opener to Hamburg, and with a brand-new points system now deciding who races in the Elite 15, the American contingent — led by Lauren Weeks and Dylan Scott — goes into the season sitting near the top of the standings. Here’s what changed, the full calendar, and the Americans to watch.
From the HYROX Cruise to Hamburg: What Happened to the Opener
When HYROX announced the first-ever HYROX Cruise, it came with a headline feature: the opening Elite 15 race of the 2026/27 season would be held at sea. The cruise itself is still on — October 21–25, 2026, aboard Mein Schiff 4, sailing from Palma de Mallorca with stops in Marseille and Barcelona before returning to Palma on October 25.
The Elite 15 race, however, is no longer part of it. HYROX later confirmed that the season opener has moved to Hamburg, reported by BOXROX on July 29, 2026 (“HYROX moves Elite 15 season opener to Hamburg”) and posted as an update on the official @hyroxexperiences Instagram account. The official Elite Series calendar on hyrox.com now lists Hamburg as Race 1.
So if you booked the cruise hoping to watch the world’s best race on deck, the elite field won’t be there — but the cruise remains a training-and-racing trip for age-group athletes and fans.

For American fans, the date to circle is Las Vegas, March 12–13, 2027 — the one Elite 15 race on home soil this season. If you’re thinking about racing the age-group event that weekend, our HYROX Las Vegas guide covers the venue and logistics, and the 2027 US schedule lists the rest of next year’s American races.
How the New Points System Works
The 2026/27 season replaces the old qualification pathway with a rolling points system: an athlete’s ranking is built from their best five results over a rolling 365-day window. Instead of one standout race deciding everything, it rewards athletes who perform consistently across the season. That’s why the current HYROX Elite 15 athletes list is better thought of as a live leaderboard than a fixed roster — it moves after every race.
The Americans to Watch

As of October 5, 2026, these are the US athletes’ positions in the official points standings, as reported by Hybrid Fitness Media from points.hyrox.com:
| Athlete | Division | Rank | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lauren Weeks | Women | #2 | 540 |
| Alyssa McElheny | Women | #3 | 537 |
| Vivian Tafuto | Women | #13 | 522 |
| Rachael Wade | Women | #15 | 520 |
| Dylan Scott | Men | #1 | 539 |
| Jack Driscoll | Men | #9 | 525 |
| Gabriel Heck | Men | #10 | 525 |
For context, the women’s No. 1 is Australia’s Joanna Wietrzyk with 547 points. Rankings change after every race; we couldn’t load the full official leaderboard directly, so these figures come from Hybrid Fitness Media’s October 5 report.
Lauren Weeks
The highest-ranked American woman at No. 2, just seven points behind Wietrzyk. Lauren Weeks’ HYROX résumé already includes two world records: the women’s Pro Doubles record of 52:11.84 with Vivian Tafuto, and the fastest reported women’s Open time, 55:38 — both covered in our HYROX world records roundup.
Alyssa McElheny
Three points behind Weeks at No. 3, McElheny gives the US two of the top three spots in the women’s standings going into Hamburg.
Vivian Tafuto and Rachael Wade
Both sit inside the top 15 (No. 13 and No. 15), the zone that matters most under the new system. Tafuto shares the women’s Pro Doubles world record with Weeks.
Dylan Scott
The men’s standings are led by an American: Dylan Scott is No. 1 with 539 points. Holding that spot over a 365-day window will mean racing well all season, not just once.
Jack Driscoll and Gabriel Heck
Tied on 525 points at No. 9 and No. 10, both are in the top-15 mix with five races still to come.
Former Champions Worth Watching
Two big American names are not currently in the top 15 of the points standings — but they’re names fans will keep an eye on:
- Megan Jacoby — the 2024 women’s World Champion and the first woman to break one hour. She didn’t race the 2025 World Championships and currently sits outside the top 15 (No. 39 in RoxRadar’s ranking). Any Megan Jacoby HYROX comeback would be one of the storylines of the season.
- Greyson Kilgore — the overall men’s champion of the 2024/25 Elite 15 series. He’s currently around No. 33 in the points standings.
