HYROX Houston 2027: NRG Center Move, Dates, Tickets & Youngstars (Apr 1–4)

Academy HYROX Houston returns on April 1–4, 2027 — but not where you remember it. After racing at the George R. Brown Convention Center downtown, HYROX Houston moves to NRG Center in NRG Park, south of downtown. It also adds HYROX Youngstars Houston for 8–15-year-olds. Here’s what’s confirmed for 2027 and how to plan around the new venue.

The Big Change: NRG Center

NRG Center is the exhibition hall inside NRG Park, the complex that also contains NRG Stadium. Compared with the downtown convention center, a few things change for race weekend:

• Where you stay: downtown hotels are no longer next door. Hotels around NRG Park and the Medical Center area are closer; downtown still works if you plan transport.
• Getting there: METRORail’s Red Line runs between downtown and NRG Park, which makes a car-free trip possible. Rideshare and on-site parking are the other options — check the event page for parking details closer to the date.
• Give yourself time: NRG Park is a big site. Work out which entrance you need before race morning and allow extra minutes to walk to the hall.

HYROX Youngstars Houston

Houston is getting its first HYROX Youngstars race on April 3–4, 2027 — a format for athletes aged 8–15 that blends running with strength and coordination exercises adapted from the adult race. Two practical points from the official page:

• Youngstars tickets aren’t on sale yet; there’s a sign-up for early access.
• A spectator ticket for HYROX Youngstars Houston also covers HYROX Houston, and vice versa.

Tickets and Schedule

As of October 8, 2026, neither athlete nor spectator tickets are on sale and the race schedule is “To Be Announced.” When the schedule appears, expect the usual pattern — on-site registration opening 90 minutes before each division’s first start wave, photo ID required, and no checking in for someone else. Individual start times are published about three days before the event.

Training Timeline

April 1 is about 25 weeks from today, which leaves room for two blocks:

• Now–December: build your running base and general strength. If you want a race-day rehearsal, a fall or winter race works well.
• Early January onward: start the 12-week training plan so it ends in race week.
• Throughout: set realistic splits with the pace calculator and pacing guide, and check your loads in the weights guide.

Houston’s spring is warm and humid, but the race is indoors — the real effect is on your outdoor training runs. Run early, hydrate, and expect to run a little slower outside than on race day.
